The official language in Chile is Spanish. To study as an international student at USM, all students must have a sufficient command of Spanish in order to take regular courses, all of which are taught in Spanish.

During the months of February/March and July, the USM offers intensive spanish courses for those students wanting to improve their Spanish skills.

This two-week course is open to anyone interested and is especially recommended for students who plan on spending a semester at our University.

Intensive Spanish Courses 2013
